Waiting for the Express Train in London |
One of the things we found is that the people in London are extremely helpful and kind. In almost every instance when we asked for help, people were incredibly accommodating. At the last place we stopped, a man from Morocco name Massau was not able to replace the pass for us, but he said, "The place that you are staying is very far from here and your passes won't cover the fare. I see you have your family with you and I do a lot of traveling myself with my family. I'm getting off in about 20 minutes. If you will wait for me, I will let you ride on the Express train as my guest." This was a pretty big deal because it was going to cost us about $80 and 2 hours to make the trip to where we were staying, all with these heavy packs on our backs. Traveling with him would take less than an hour and would be free!
We hung out for a few minutes in the train station, which was VERY safe and clean by the way, and waited for him to get off. The kids played a game of cards. In a few minutes, he walked us over to the platform, talked to the attendant, and said, "Everything is taken care of. Have a nice trip!" I offered to pay him, but he refused payment. It's just another way that see God's presence watching over us each day.
