London Digs

For our first place to stay, we were able to track down a retreat center in north London.  It's called the Highbury Centre and it was opened in the days of the China Inland Mission for missionaries traveling back and forth to the mission field.  It is more or less a large dormitory that has been turned into a large hotel.

Breakfast in the Dining Room
This is the most meager place we'll be staying, with all five of us staying in one room which overlooks a beautiful garden.  Each person has their own bed, and there's a set of bunk beds in one corner.  There's no A/C, which is common here, but it has been very cool, so it's not a problem.  The bathroom is down the hall. Even though it's old, it's very clean and neat.

There is a nice breakfast fixed where all those staying here have an assi
gned table for a meal of eggs, bacon, baguettes, and coffee on fine china.  It's a very nice meal that we weren't expecting and helps provide traveling power for the day.

It has been enjoyable to
visit with people from literally all over the world.  One man, who currently lives in LA, was particularly helpful.  His wife owns a home in downtown London and so he has travelled here often. When we told him about our journey, he has provided invaluable tips about what to do, where to go, and how to get the most for your money.

It seems like that God has provided just the people we have needed to meet at just the right times to help us out.  We are consistently amazed at how good God is to us and how He provides.
